Glenorchy Healthy Communities Plan

The Glenorchy City Council implemented the Glenorchy Health Communities Plan in September 2014. The 10-year plan has three goals which are:

1. A natural and built environment that encourages active lifestyles and healthy eating;

2. A cohesive and inclusive community with well-developed social and community networks and assets; and

3. Improved personal health knowledge, practices and lifestyles.

The plan replaces the 2008-2013 Recreation Plan and will guide the Council in its pursuit of ‘improved health and wellbeing of the people of Glenorchy through increased awareness of, and participation in, physical and wellness activities’.
